Clutter can sneak up on us, turning our homes into chaotic spaces. Don't worry, I've got you covered. Here’s a rundown of the14 types of clutter and some tips on how to manage them.

Aspirational Clutter
This type of clutter stems from our dreams and the fear of missing out. Be honest with yourself—do you have a plan to make these aspirations come true? If not, this clutter might be more of a hindrance than a help.
Everyday Clutter
Surface clutter accumulates quickly. Set aside time each day to tidy up. Ensure everything has a designated spot. 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference.
Expensive Clutter
Items that cost a lot but no longer serve a purpose can be hard to let go of. Remember, their value has likely decreased. Consider selling or donating them.
Free Stuff Clutter
Freebies like hotel toiletries and product samples can quietly pile up. Unless you’ll use them quickly, learn to say no.
Garbage Clutter
Obvious garbage needs to go. Grab a trash bag and fill it with rubbish. Consider doing a separate bag for recyclables.
If nothing else, do trash bag therapy today.

Gifted Clutter
Sometimes gifts just don’t fit into our lives. After appreciating the thought, it’s up to you what happens next. You can regift, swap, or return them if possible. It’s the thought that counts, right? I’ll answer this for you. RIGHT! Gifts are never intended to be a hindrance, so don't let them be.
Homeless Clutter
Find a space for your homeless items. Declutter what’s already stored to make room, or think creatively about storage solutions, like using vertical space.
Inherited Clutter
Inherited items might not match your style. If they don't bring you joy, offer them to other family members. If no one wants them, discuss whether they need to be kept at all. Possibly upcycle them to be more your style, consider getting them valued first if they might be worth something.

Other People's Clutter
Living with others can mean dealing with their clutter too. Remember, never declutter someone else's belongings without their permission. Lead by example instead!
Seasonal Clutter
Think decorations or hobby equipment. Schedule time after each season to pack these items away properly. Make sure you have the right storage space and containers ready.

Sentimental Clutter
Sentimental clutter often holds memories, but ask yourself, What am I really keeping it for? If these items aren’t stored properly, they might get damaged even when packed away. Try limiting yourself to what fits in a memory box, and consider taking photos of items instead of keeping them physically.
Stockpile Clutter
Bargain shopping can lead to overstocking. If it’s hard to store, it’s clutter. Stock up only on what you can store and challenge yourself to avoid non-essential purchases for a month. See how you feel about it.

Undecided Clutter
This is the notorious "maybe" pile. Get someone to help you make decisions about these items.
Unfinished Clutter
These are projects you never completed. Do you have a schedule to tackle them? Plan time to work on your to-do list, and for the rest, Pack them away properly until you can find the time to finish them.
Dealing with clutter can be overwhelming, but by identifying these types and taking small steps, you can reclaim your space. Embrace the process and enjoy the peace that comes with an organized home!
