Via Organizing: My Journey to Becoming an Organizational Specialist

ree

Hello, lovely readers! I’m thrilled to share a bit about myself and my journey into the world of organizing and decorating. It's been quite an adventure, filled with creativity, learning, and a lot of hands-on experience. So, get comfy, and let’s dive in!

A Love for Creativity and Hands-On Work

My passion for organizing and redecorating started when I was just a kid. Picture this: a tornado of a room that I would transform into a tidy, rearranged space, much to my parents’ relief! My tendency for moving furniture around was just the beginning. During my high school years, I spent summers helping my dad with carpentry work, including building a house after I graduated and doodling and color coding my notes during the school year. These experiences laid the foundation for my love of creating and transforming spaces.

Education and Career Beginnings

After high school, I moved to Saskatoon to figure out my path in life. I pursued an Interior Decorating Diploma, which opened up a world of color and design for me. I started working at a paint store, where I climbed the ranks to a management position. Here, I not only honed my skills in color theory but also earned a Color Consultation Certificate and a Redesign Certificate.

Life Changes and New Beginnings

Love happened! I got engaged, moved to a farm, and embraced a new lifestyle. I poured my energy into renovating our entire house, which was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. As the years went by, I traveled to tropical destinations, started a family, and worked a job that, while great, wasn’t aligned with my true passion.

Embracing Decluttering and Finding My Path

In 2020, with a baby on the way, we completed our major renovations. This was a turning point for me—I finally let go of the “just in case” items I’d been holding onto. The freedom and relief I felt were liberating! This experience taught me the power of decluttering, and I’ve become more intentional about the things I keep.

Recognizing my love for helping others and my creative, hands-on nature, I pursued an Organizational Specialist Certification in January 2022. This gave me the confidence to start my own business, where I now help others achieve the same clarity and peace in their homes as I have in mine.

In 2023 I had my second child!

A Glimpse into My Personal Life

Beyond organizing and decorating, I have a wide range of interests. I grew up enjoying martial arts, hunting, hairstyling, makeup, drawing, and traveling to warm destinations. My love for animals is immense—I’ve adored cats my whole life and have grown to love dogs, too. My husband and I have been fostering dogs through Prairie Pooches Rescue and I volunteer with Canine Action Project when I can. We live a fulfilling farm life with our daughters Olivia and Emily, our dog Coach, and three farm cats.
